Titans star David Fifita has come under fire for a hot and cold performance in the team’s narrow loss to the Eels over the weekend.
The hulking second-rower became one of the highest-paid players in the NRL when he made the shock move from the Broncos to the Titans — and it has resulted in mixed results for the Gold Coast club.
Fifita’s form has been one of the most hotly-debated subjects this season with some slamming the team for failing to give him the Steeden enough, while others have suggested the 22-year-old has not done enough to make an impact on games.

Now NRL great Scott Sattler says Fifita is suddenly “one of their worst players” after the tough loss to Parramatta.
The Eels shot out to an early lead but were made to earn the 26-20 victory as the Titans mounted a comeback, scoring all five of their tries in the second half.
Fifita was quiet until he scored a brilliant individual try from 40 metres out in the 66th minute.
The man on $1.2 million per season finished with 112 metres from 12 carries.
Sattler said on SEN’s Pat and Heals breakfast show the Titans should be thinking about benching Fifita.
“David Fifita, although he scored an amazing try on Saturday night, I think he’s one of their worst players at the moment, to be quite honest,” he said.
“They need to find more out of him, if they don’t, I’d think about putting him on the bench.”
Fox League commentator Andrew Voss also pointed the finger at Fifita for failing to lead the team against the Eels.
“The numbers are a bit underwhelming for all of the Titans forwards,” Voss said.
“We put the microscope on David Fifita you tell me who is excelling in the Titans pack at the moment, they’re all hiding behind us putting the microscope on David Fifita.”
