Jahrome Hughes has revealed he’s been “getting stuck into” his Storm teammate Cameron Munster about re-signing with the powerhouse club.

Munster, whose current deal expires at the end of 2023, is weighing up an extension with the Storm or a big-money offer from the Dolphins.

The Storm have reportedly tabled a three-year offer at $750,000, which is a significant haircut from the $1.2 million he stands to earn next season.

Meanwhile, the Dolphins are willing to pay him up to $1.2 million per season.

The $250,000 gap saw former Storm skipper Cameron Smith admit he’d be “tempted” to make the move if he were Munster.

But Hughes is doing everything he can to get his premiership-winning halves partner to stay in Melbourne — and revealed Munster was a big reason why he re-signed despite interest from rival clubs.

“I’ve been getting stuck into him (Munster) actually, but he’s given me nothing at the moment,” Hughes said on Wednesday.

“Hopefully he can stay, that was one of the key components of me staying was hopefully him staying as well.

“But he’s got to do what’s best for him with his young family.”

Hughes recently inked an extension that will keep him at the Storm at the end of 2026. Also staying put are Xavier Coates (2026) and Harry Grant (2025) with the latter joining Hughes in hoping Munster will follow suit.

“He (Munster) has still got this year and next year so we don’t want to look too far ahead,” Grant said.

“Everyone in the squad’s just focused on this season.
