Raiders star Jack Wighton has made a stark admission after his side’s disappointing loss to the Cowboys.
The Canberra side burst out of the blocks early to take a 12-0 lead within 15 minutes, but faded and allowed Todd Payten’s side to run away with an 18-12 victory.
The Raiders lacked direction in the second half and were blown away by the North Queensland forward pack, with gun playmaker Wighton suggesting his teammates were “taking naps”.

“Very frustrated after leading at half time,” Wighton said to Channel 9.
“We’ve got to look at ourselves individually… people (are) taking naps.
“Something will have to change or we’re no hope.”
The trip to Canberra is generally considered one of the toughest for away teams, but the Cowboys looked comfortable after working themselves into the game.
After the game, fans of the green machine were heard booing their team, after handing the win to the travelling North Queensland team.
