Tigers recruit Brent Naden was captured grabbing Bulldogs fullback Matt Dufty by the collar after their Round 11 clash.

Naden made a shock midweek switch after Trent Barrett’s departure and was named in Michael Maguire’s extended squad to the surprise of many.

Eagle-eyed rugby league fans spotted the transfer, and only moments after teamlists dropped at 4pm on Tuesday afternoon, both clubs released a statement.

The 26-year-old was the first to leave the Bulldogs and there was clearly no love lost after the Tigers 36-22 win.

Footage of the quick bust-up wasn’t shown on the broadcast, but as Dufty walked over and whispered something in Naden’s ear, the former Panther clearly took offence.

Naden shirt-fronted Dufty for a few seconds before letting him go as the former Dragons fullback walked away.

The off-season recruit quit the Canterbury-Bankstown club on Tuesday according to News Corp, having joined to play under Barrett.

Naden’s manager Allan Gainey was said to have spotted an opening with the Tigers who have a wealth of outside backs on the sidelines.

Generally appearing on the wing for the Bulldogs, Naden reportedly had approached Phil Gould to move back into his native centre role and was turned down after the NRL supremo pointed out the young talent the club had in the position.

Regular centres Adam Doueihi and James Roberts were sidelined with injury, while English import Oliver Gildart’s form hasn’t warranted selection.

Luke Garner had been deployed as a centre under Maguire to fill the hole, but in the end Tyrone Peachey and Naden took the centre spots in Round 11.

Naden was the first to depart the club in turmoil, signing a 18-month deal with the Bulldogs cross-town rivals and was strong on debut, recording 101 running metres, two tackle breaks, one line break assist and a try assist at Leichhardt Oval.
