North Queensland Cowboys vs St George Illawarra Dragons 7.55pm at Queensland Country Bank Stadium
Last week’s Cowboys team: 1. Scott Drinkwater 2. Brendan Elliot 3. Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow 4. Peta Hiku 5. Murray Taulagi 6. Ben Hampton 7. Chad Townsend 8. Jordan McLean 9. Reece Robson 10. Coen Hess 11. Tom Gilbert 12. Heilum Luki 13. Jason Taumalolo 14. Jake Granville 15. Connelly Lemuelu 16. Jamayne Taunoa-Brown 17. Griffin Neame
Team Tips: With the short back-up from Wednesday night’s Origin series opener, expect the trio of Reuben Cotter, Jeremiah Nanai and Valentine Holmes to sit out this clash. Tom Dearden could play if he isn’t used from the replacement player role, forcing Ben Hampton out of the team. The Cowboys again came away unscathed from their Round 13 clash, meaning Payten is unlikely to make any other changes after a strong performance against the Titans.
Round 12 Dragons team: 1. Cody Ramsey 2. Mathew Feagai 3. Moses Suli 4. Zac Lomax 19. Tautau Moga 6. Talatau Amone 7. Ben Hunt 8. Francis Molo 9. Moses Mbye 10. Blake Lawrie 11. Jack Bird 12. Tariq Sims 13. Jack de Belin 14. Andrew McCullough 15. Aaron Woods 16. Michael Molo 17. Tyrell Fuimaono
Team Tips: Anthony Griffin will be desperately hoping playmaking gun Ben Hunt will back-up only two days after Origin, but likely won’t line up for the Red V. Moses Mbye could find himself in the halfback role, with veteran hooker Andrew McCullough taking the No.9. Young gun playmaker Jayden Sullivan will likely find himself back in the team, but could take Hunt’s starting halfback spot instead of Mbye after a string of strong performances in reserve grade. Meanwhile, Josh McGuire is set for a return from a groin injury, likely slotting straight in for Blues representative Tariq Sims in the back-row who is also unlikely to back-up.
Gold Coast Titans vs South Sydney Rabbitohs 3pm Cbus Super Stadium
Last week’s Titans team: 1. Jayden Campbell 2. Corey Thompson 3. Brian Kelly 16. Esan Marsters 5. Jamayne Isaako 6. AJ Brimson 7. Toby Sexton 8. Moeaki Fotuaika 9. Erin Clark 10. Jarrod Wallace 11. Sam McIntyre 12. Beau Fermor 13. Isaac Liu 4. Patrick Herbert 14. Tanah Boyd 15. Jaimin Jolliffe 17. Sam Lisone
Team Tips: Jayden Campbell’s hamstring injury is a huge blow for the Titans and the severity is yet unknown. The young gun will likely be sidelined for a period, with Jamayne Isaako the man to take over at the back. Phillip Sami is due to return from a knee injury and could be the man Holbrook chooses to slot onto the wing. Tino Fa’asuamaleaui is unlikely to back up, playing prop for the Maroons, but if he does will force Isaac Liu into the backrow, slotting back into the No.13, with Sam McIntyre moving back to the bench and Sam Lisone out of the side.

Round 12 Rabbitohs team: 17. Kodi Nikorima 2. Alex Johnston 3. Jaxson Paulo 4. Campbell Graham 5. Taane Milne 6. Cody Walker 7. Lachlan Ilias 10. Thomas Burgess 9. Damien Cook 15. Mark Nicholls 11. Keaon Koloamatangi 12. Jai Arrow 24. Cameron Murray 1. Blake Taaffe 13. Hame Sele 16. Siliva Havili 21. Shaq Mitchell
Team Tips: Jason Demetriou will have to go another week without star fullback Latrell Mitchell after he tested positive for Covid-19. Kodi Nikorima shifted to fullback late but didn’t make a huge impact. Blake Taaffe could slot back into No.1 and Nikorima into the utility. Tevita Tatola will need to pass concussion protocols to play but will likely return in place of Mark Nicholls, pushing Shaq Mitchell of the bench. Damien Cook is unlikely to back-up for South Sydney, meaning reserve grade hooker Peter Mamouzelos could get a shot, adding to his three-game career. Cameron Murray is another who may not back up, but given his importance to the side could play on a four-day back-up. If not, Hame Sele or Trent Peoples could slot into the backrow.
Sydney Roosters vs Melbourne Storm 5.30pm at SCG
Last week’s Roosters team: 1. Joseph Manu 2. Billy Smith 3. Paul Momirovski 4. Kevin Naiqama 5. Joseph Suaalii 6. Sam Walker 7. Luke Keary 10. Siosiua Taukeiaho 9. Drew Hutchison 15. Fletcher Baker 11. Angus Crichton 12. Sitili Tupouniua 13. Nat Butcher 14. Connor Watson 16. Egan Butcher 17. Terrell May 19. Daniel Suluka-Fifita
Team Tips:James Tedesco is unlikely to back up given the performance of Joseph Manu at fullback. Last year with the same back-up Robinson sat his star fullback out. Billy Smith will likely retain is spot on the wing if Daniel Tupou is also put on ice after the series opener. Lindsay Collins could also sit out but is a strong chance of playing. Robinson will be sweating on the fitness of Jared Waerea-Hargreaves, but should make a return after a late exclusion, pushing Fletcher Baker back to the bench and Daniel Suluka-Fifita out of the side.
Round 12 Storm team: 1. Nick Meaney 2. Dean Ieremia 3. Marion Seve 4. Justin Olam 5. Xavier Coates 6. Cameron Munster 7. Jahrome Hughes 8. Jesse Bromwich 14. Brandon Smith 10. Tui Kamikamica 11. Felise Kaufusi 12. Kenny Bromwich 13. Josh King 15. Tyran Wishart 16. Trent Loiero 18. Chris Lewis 20. Jordan Grant
Team Tips: Ryan Papenhuyzen is due back in Round 15, but could be an outside chance of making a return. Last year, Cameron Munster played on the four-day back-up and given his fitness improvements this season could again play in Round 14. Harry Grant should be fit to play after lining up on the bench for the Maroons, while Xavier Coates is another good chance of playing. Brandon Smith will likely move back to the bench, in place of Tyran Wishart.Nelson Asofa-Solomona is also due for a return, shifting Tui Kamikamica back to the bench in place of Jordan Grant.
Brisbane Broncos vs Canberra Raiders 7.35pm at Suncorp Stadium
Round 12 Broncos team: 1. Te Maire Martin 2. Corey Oates 3. Kotoni Staggs 4. Herbie Farnworth 5. Selwyn Cobbo 6. Tyson Gamble 7. Ezra Mam 8. Corey Jensen 9. Billy Walters 10. Payne Haas 11. Kurt Capewell 12. Jordan Riki 13. Patrick Carrigan 14. Cory Paix 15. Kobe Hetherington 16. Thomas Flegler 17. Keenan Palasia
Team Tips: Payne Haas backed up last year after Origin and again will take his place up in the front row. Patrick Carrigan and Kotoni Staggs will also likely play, meaning there will be minimal changes to the Broncos side. But, Kevin Walters men will welcome back one crucial man, Adam Reynolds, who is set to push Ezra Mam out of the team. Kurt Capewell may not back up after lining up in the backrow for Queensland, meaning Kobe Hetherington could slot in on the edge.
Last week’s Raiders team: 1. Xavier Savage 2. Nick Cotric 3. Matthew Timoko 4. Sebastian Kris 5. Jordan Rapana 6. Matt Frawley 7. Jamal Fogarty 8. Corey Horsburgh 9. Zac Woolford 10. Joseph Tapine 11. Hudson Young 12. Elliott Whitehead 13. Adam Elliott 14. Tom Starling 15. Ryan Sutton 17. Trey Mooney 18. James Schiller
Team Tips: Jack Wighton will almost certainly clot into five-eighth on the four-day back-up, while Josh Papalii is a strong chance of taking back his prop spot in place of Corey Horsburgh, pushing back to the bench with Trey Mooney or James Schiller moving to the extended bench. Corey Harawira-Naera will also return from Covid-19 protocols, likely taking a bench spot in place of one of those two men.

Team Tips: Michael Maguire’s Tigers are set for a huge inclusion — Adam Doueihi. The Tigers star is a strong chance of slotting into the centres with the halves pairing of Luke Brooks and Jackson Hastings unlikely to change. Brent Naden could be the man to shift out of the side, while centres Oliver Gildart and James Roberts unlikely to force their way in returning from calf and back injuries respectively. David Nofoaluma could also force his way into the side, likely displacing Asu Kepaoa if the senior playing group want him to return after being stood down.

James Fisher-Harris 11. Viliame Kikau 12. Chris Smith 13. Matt Eisenhuth 14. Mitch Kenny 15. Scott Sorensen 16. Spencer Leniu 17. Jaeman Salmon
Team Tips: The Panthers will likely be careful with their band of Origin stars. Foxsports.com.au understands that Ivan Cleary is considering putting the halves pairing of Jarome Luai and Nathan Cleary on ice, hoping to get through the Origin period unscathed. Meanwhile, it will come down to how Isaah Yeo, Liam Martin, Stephen Crichton and Brian To’o pull up after the series opener as to if they will play or not. Stephen Crichton and Liam Martin are a good chance to play, having been named on the bench and will likely shift Robert Jennings to the wing and Charlie Staines out of the side, as well as Chris Smith.
