Brisbane’s 24-18 victory over the Canberra Raiders on Saturday night unfortunately came at a massive cost, as some of the club’s biggest names are set to be sidelined.

Fox League’s James Hooper revealed the extent of the Broncos’ injury toll on

Triple M’s Sunday Sin Bin.

“Adam Reynolds is their captain and their marquee recruit,” Hooper said.

“He picked up a rib cartliage injury throughout the game.

“Adam Reynolds really wanted to stay out there so he just kept pushing it and pushing it, but he did cop another whack into the ribs and as a result he won’t play against the Melbourne Storm in Round 15.

“That’s big news for the Broncos that he’ll be missing for at least the next couple of weeks.”

Reynolds’ impact with the Broncos has been colossal, a major influence in steering the once woeful side into the competition’s top four.

However the Broncos captain isn’t the only marquee player set for time off.

“Payne Haas was the other massive name injured out of that game,” Hooper announced.

“He’s hurt the AC joint in his right shoulder and he’s also very unlikely to play against the Melbourne Storm, then it’ll be up to the New South Wales Blues selectors whether they want to take the risk with Payne or not.

“Herbie Farnworth has torn his bicep, he’s got to have surgery.

“He’s out for between ten and twelve weeks and Cory Paix the back up hooker has been doing a terrific job in tandem with Billy Walters he’s done his MCL so he’s out for four to six weeks as well.

“It was carnage for the Brisbane Broncos last night. One of the bravest wins Gordie I reckon in the history of that club given all the injury curve balls they got served up.”

With four players added to the Broncos’ casualty ward, Walters’ side will have to dig deep when they travel down to Melbourne to take on the Storm next Saturday at AAMI Park, June 17.
