England 0/0 in 0.0 Overs | England vs Nepal Live Score, T20 World Cup 2026: England captain Harry Brook wins toss, opts to bat vs Nepal
Brook leads a formidable England side that has enjoyed consistent success in the T20I format, but the spotlight has also lingered on an incident at a Wellington nightclub, where the English captain was reportedly involved in an altercation with a bouncer during the pre-Ashes tour.
During the Captains’ Press Conference, Brook fielded questions on the incident, and all-rounder Will Jacks also addressed the matter during pre-match media interactions on Friday.
“I wasn’t actually in New Zealand, so I don’t know anything about it. It’s just one of those things that he obviously made a wrong decision and he accepted that. He has went out trying to move forward in a positive direction with that,” Jacks said.
“He knows what he has done and there’s nothing you can change about that, so there’s no point focussing on it too much. On his perspective, he wants his cricket to do the talking,” Jacks added.
Away from the off-field episode, England have had a perfect build-up to the World Cup and will be one of the teams to beat. Placed in Group C alongside debutants Italy, Nepal, Scotland, and the West Indies, they know they must hit top gear from the start. England won 11 out of 17 T20Is last year while losing only two, boasting explosive talent across the board for both setting and chasing big totals.
However, bowling in dewy conditions could pose challenges, and England will rely on experienced campaigner Adil Rashid for solutions.
For Nepal, it is another opportunity to make an impact on the global stage. In the last edition, they narrowly lost to South Africa by just one run and bowled Bangladesh out for 106. Recently, they defeated two-time T20 World Cup winners West Indies 2-1, a result that will certainly fuel their confidence.
Nepal have also made finals in other tournaments, including a tri-series last June against the Netherlands and Scotland and a T20I Quadrangular featuring Qatar, Hong Kong, and Kuwait, showcasing steady progress on the international stage.
