Puerto Rican superstar Bad Bunny is set to grace the silver screen once again in a historical drama titled ‘Porto Roco.’ Filmed in his homeland, this directorial debut by René Pérez Joglar will see Bad Bunny sharing the screen with Hollywood heavyweights like Viggo Mortensen and Edward Norton. Bad Bunny confirmed to star in an upcoming project as an actor

Deadline recently confirmed that Bad Bunny, whose real name is Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, has been cast as an actor in an upcoming film. René Pérez Joglar’s directorial debut, the film, is set in the singer’s home country and is a feature-length historical drama film. As of right now, it has been titled ‘Porto Roco.’

Bad Bunny is all set and ready to star opposite established actors, which include Viggo Mortensen (‘Eastern Promises’ and ‘The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring’), Edward Norton (‘Primal Fear’, ‘Fight Club’, and ‘The Incredible Hulk’), and Javier Bardem (‘No Country For Old Men’ and ‘Eat Pray Love’).The director of the film also stated his directorial debut as well. He shared, “I have dreamed of making a film about my country since I was a child. Puerto Rico’s true history has always been surrounded by controversy. This film is a reaffirmation of who we are – told with the intensity and honesty that our history deserves.”

Beyond music, Bad Bunny has dabbled in other acting credits over the past few years. In 2021, the ‘WHERE SHE GOES’ singer first appeared on screen in films and TV shows such as ‘F9’ and ‘Narcos: Mexico.’ The next year, he appeared in ‘Bullet Train’ as well as the sports drama film ‘Cassandro.’His latest venture into acting came with ‘Caught Stealing’, which was released earlier last year and co-stars names such as Zoë Kravitz, Liev Schreiber, Matt Smith, Regina King, Laura Dern, and Austin Butler.
