It’s time to play detective again as Ajay Devgn is bringing back his crime thriller, ‘Drishyam 3’. On Monday, the actor officially announced that the film would release in theatres on ‘Dhurandhar’ day aka, October 2, 2026. theatrical release. Taking to his handle, Devgn teased fans by declaring, “Aakhri hissa baaki hai.” As per reports, the film is touted to be the final chapter of the successful franchise that sees the actor play the role of Vijay Salgaonkar. Shooting for the much-anticipated third instalment is reportedly underway, with the story progressing within the current timeline. However, fans will get their thrills and chills with the makers introducing new and unexpected twists in the lives of the Salgaonkar family.

Since debuting as the character of Vijay Salgaonkar in 2015, Ajay has emerged as an iconic on-screen father, standing up against every adversity to keep his family one step ahead of the law.The Abhishek Pathak directorial is reportedly set to bring back the original ensemble cast, including Tabu, Shriya Saran and Rajat Kapoor to reprise their roles.The first part of the ‘Drishyam’ franchise was a box office hit. The film earned a collection of Rs 110.40 crores worldwide, and scored a net domestic collection of Rs 68.66 crore, against a reported Rs 48 crore budget. The sequel proved to be an even bigger hit with the movie earning an estimated domestic collection of Rs 239.67 crore net with a worldwide gross of Rs 342 crore.
